Starbase 243

Starbase 243 - Welcome to the Frontlines

‘War’. To many within the Federation the word is tied purely to stories from history. Tales told of wars from long ago like fairy tales to romanticise. For others, the horror and trauma of the Dominion war still scar both their minds and the worlds they inhabit. Now 18 years later these scars are beginning to bleed once again and Starfleet is scrambling to reinforce the neglected Cardassian neutral zone.

Located close to the Cardassian Demilitarized Zone near the system of Umoth, Starbase 243 has been ordered to refit and recrew to it’s full compliment. This Ethereal class base is to serve as the primary repair and recovery base in the event of hostilities, providing logistical support to the fleet in the hopes of saving both more lives and Starships.

The challenge for her crew however is massive. As a base on the border she has seen her fair share of refugee’s, travelers and veterans all of whom have strong feelings about the current political unrest and war tribunals taking place. To complete their objectives and get the base ready the crew will have to find the balance politically and manage their resources well.

Welcome. To the Cardassian Border.

Inside Ops was a completely different kind of atmosphere to the transports. Unlike the crew stuck in the metal boxes in space James and his staff had a lot of work to do.

Mission: Bring on the Wrecking Machine

Siobahn was onto her third, or maybe it was her fourth brightly coloured blue drink, each one seemed to be more delicious than the last. She had stepped out of her comfort zone and joined a bunch of junior officers and the conversation flowed as easily as the drinks. She…
